Wow. What are the odds? *UPDATED*

...and then a woman in Germany created this: miss-molly.com/images/logos/he… for her online shop. What a coincidence, no? So similar, and yet...

Gee, I sure would have said that's a rip-off, but no, wait--she tells me she has registered her work here:
register.dpma.de/DPMAregister/… Her logo is a registered trademark, she says to me!

So okay, I guess that makes it all right.

I haven't decided what I'll do, if anything. Folks, stuff like this makes me weary, as I know it does every one of you to whom this has happened. Much, much too distracting from things that really matter.

Of course, the best part is always how the guilty parties hasten to inform you that they paid someone else to do it, and that person swore it was original, and how on earth were they to know, and besides, it's not that similar to your art, really, and oh just go away, we want to be free to steal things from the internet in peace for god's sake.

Another glass of wine for me, please.

So...after a few emails back and forth, the art has been removed and rancor and ill will have pretty much evaporated, as is appropriate for the season. A relief!
